Part 4 ---Classification of Science ---A viewpoint that is widely accepted views human knowledge from three broad perspectives; Knowledge/information based on revelation. Knowledge/information based on logical analysis. Knowledge/information based on sense experience. The methodologies of each of the above categories differ. For instance, the third category relies on trail and error to gather information and facts. In the second category, argumentation and logical induction or deduction are the vehicles that drive us towards conclusions.

And as far as the first category is concerned the words of Allah and the immaculate Imams are used as reference. In the prevalent sphere of logos, science is divided into theoretical and applied spheres. Each of these fields has its own classification; scientific disciplines are separated. Each discipline deals with a specific topic's prescepts, descriptions, qualities, impacts. Each discipline has its own specific objective and methodology.

Being (inasmuch as it exists) is the topic that philosophy expounds. Philosophy studies the condition and situations of the being and the rules that govern its existence. Of course this does not mean that other disciplines do not study being; however, they focus on the rules and precepts of a specific being and its characteristics in a way that these characteristics predominate and influence precept and qualities.

For instance, in mathematical science the issue is a mathematical being or quantitative precepts. In other words this discipline concentrates on the rules of a specific being whose essence is governed by quantitative precepts. (To be Contd.)
